Vintage at the Home

Harvesting, singing…Have you ever seen anything as beautiful as this?

“Harvesting, singing…Have you ever seen anything as beautiful as this?” These are the opening lines of Gyula Takáts’ verse, with which the students and young people of the Immanuel Home were invited to the vintage celebrations which took place in the courtyard of the home from 9.30 on 14th October 2011.

The staff decorated the courtyard of the home for the day of the vintage festivities. Extremely beautiful bunches of grapes hung from the bannisters, and fences inviting the children and young people to pick them.
Indeed their little baskets did not remain empty, and so there was work for the winepress. Apart from grape-gathering, an indispensible part of this day was the singing and the good mood people were in, which were further enhanced by the “mock wedding”. The couples who took part came from the young people of the Immanuel Home and were “married” by the minister of the institution.
If someone had the opportunity to see this event from the outside, they could have seen as it follows:
“Harvesting, singing…Have you ever seen anything as beautiful as this? No, I certainly haven’t”

The wine-press rests.
The smell of must is in the air.
The silence sings
I listen to it.
A grape and
a drunk wasp
roll around
in the courtyard.

Napi ige

A változhatatlan ige Isten hűségének a jele, biztos pont a mindig változó világban.
